League of Legends Red Bull Solo Q Tournament Registration Opens

June 1, 2020

League of Legends is known for its team based battles, but sometimes it’s your own individual plays that truly matter. Tournaments in Australia almost exclusively cater to teams, with little importance placed on the singular individual and their performance. That’s about to change, with Red Bull announcing that their League of Legends 1v1 tournament, the Red Bull Solo Q, will be coming to Australia for the first time.

After running in 29 countries under the name Red Bull Player One last year, Red Bull are expanding and rebranding their 1v1 tournament. Different to a normal League of Legends match, this instead focuses in on a series of 1v1 duels with a number of different avenues to victory. If you kill your opponent, destroy their tower or are the first to reach 100 minion kills, you’re declared the victor and take the duel. It’s a different take on the standard League formula and something designed to find the best solo players of the game.

Winning the Australia Solo Q won’t just have you named the Australian Solo Q Champion, but will also open the door to further opportunities down the track. The winner will gain a place in the Red Bull Solo Q World Finals in Frankfurt Germany, will also receive an invitation to The Chiefs Club League of Legends Academy, and even get to experience the 2020 League of Legends All-Star Event first-hand.

Registration for the Australian Red Bull Solo Q tournament is open right now, with the tournament taking place from June 19th through to July 11th (Specific Dates below), so jump over to the official site and register asap!
