It seems that the rumours were true, God of War IV does exist. The game’s official name is God of War: Ascension, and it’s set to be a prequel to the long running series. It’ll focus on Kratos before he became know as the Ghost of Sparta, and will be released exclusively for PlayStation 3. Not a lot more is known about the game, but the team at Sony’s Santa Monica Studios have released the first trailer for the game, hinting at the events that will unfold.

Todd Papy, the game’s director, mentioned that everyone should keep an eye on the game’s Facebook page, as there will be a live streaming event on the 30th of April which will shed more light on the game.
