Gamefreak Releases Giga Wrecker on Early Access

August 20, 2016

Suprising gamers around the world, Gamefreak have revealed and released their latest game Giga Wrecker on Steam Early Access. Known for the Pokemon series, you might think that Gamefreak are a Nintendo owned studio, but they are in fact an independent developer who have released games for other consoles before. The most recent example of this is the 2D platformer Tembo the Badass Elephant.

Similarly to Tembo, Giga Wrecker is a 2D puzzle-platformer action game, this time following a cyborg girl who has the ability to reconstruct debris and scraps into weapons.

As far as plans and reasons go, Game Freak has stated that they went to Early Access with Giga Wrecker as they wanted the fans to be involved during its development. They have promised that the game will receive monthly updates and is currently planned for a January 2017 release, however this may get pushed back. Currently the Early Access version of Giga Wrecker lasts for around 1.5 hours, with the final release expected to go for around 6 hours.
