UPDATED: The Japanese Pokemon Website has been updated, with news of a new game for the DS and a sequel to Pokemon Black and White, with what looks like new forms of that game’s main legendary Pokemon, as seen in the image above. More details as they unfold.
While the trading battle monster series is over a decade old now, any scrap of news about Pokemon is always guaranteed to excite and delight its many fans. Recently, series producer Junichi Masuda spoke out on the GameFreak website to get the gaming world ready for a forthcoming announcement.
“On this coming Sunday, Februrary 26, 2012, from 7:30 A.M, I, Masuda, will be appearing on TV TOKYO’s Show, “Pokemon Smash!” Not only that. And there… I will be making a VERY important announcement,so be sure not to miss it!! Watch it live on TV! ”
Masuda has also promised to release the news on twitter after the live announcement. Just what could the GameFreak guys have in store – a new game for the 3DS, a ‘proper’ Pokemon game to launch with the upcoming Wii U console, the reveal of Ash’s parentage? Only Monday will reveal all.
