Nintendo has announced via their mini Nintendo Direct that the Wii U’s Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze will be ported to the Nintendo Switch.

The game is set to feature a new Funky Kong mode where players can take control of the titular Kong member. Funky utilities his surf board to perform unlimited rolls, unlimited underwater cork screws, double jump and hover. His board also protects him from spikes and other hazards and he’ll have five hearts as apposed to the traditional three. He’s designed to make the game that little bit easier, which will no doubt be appealing to those who struggle during some of the later levels.

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze for Nintendo Switch will be released on May 4, 2018.
