  • NEWS: Rumors from Kotaku suggest the first game from Respawn Entertainment, the company founded by the original Call of Duty creators, will be an Xbox exclusive. Built on a modified version of the Source engine, sources suggest the game is an always-online, multiplayer focused shooter. Teams of foot-soldiers are pitted against ‘Giants’ – pilotable exoskeletons similar to those in Mechwarrior and Steel Battalion. The game is said to be in development exclusively for Microsoft’s new console, with an Xbox 360 version to follow.
  • NEWS: Further gossip in the same article from Kotaku says Microsoft are six months behind in game production for its next console launch. Several internal projects have been cancelled, and Microsoft is aggressively seeking out platform exclusive games.
  • NEWS: A teaser for the next Call of Duty has gone out on the game’s official website. Retail listings suggest the game will be coming to Xbox 360, PS3, WiiU and PC. According to a now removed description from Tesco, the game, titled Call of Duty: Ghosts, ‘ushers in the next generation of the franchise, delivering a riveting all-new gameplay experience built on an entirely new story, setting and cast, all powered by a new next-generation Call of Duty engine’.

  • NEWS: More rumours from Kotaku suggest the 2015 iteration of Tiger Woods PGA Tour has been cancelled. Originally, the game was said to be outsourced, allowing EA’s internal teams two years to develop a next-generation version of the game.
  • NEWS: Fighting game event Battle Arena Melbourne will be holding an event to celebrate its fifth anniversary on May 17 to 19 at CQ. Over 300 players will be attending the event, which will also include live chip music, special guests and prizes. All the details may be found here.
  • NEWS: Techland has announced Hellraid for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. The slasher features both single and co-operative multiplayer, pitting players against ‘the denizens of hell’.

  • NEWS: New screenshots and art from Batman: Arkham Origins may be found at Allgamesbeta.
  • NEWS: High Moon Studios Deadpool game is scheduled to hit shelves on June 26.
  • NEWS: Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs is set for release in November. The publisher has announced four different collector’s editions of the game (details can be found courtesy of Allgamesbeta). The PS3 and PS4 versions will include one hour of exclusive gameplay. A new trailer may also be seen below.
