New Game Plus television show announced, includes monthly Rocket Chainsaw segment

April 6, 2012

New Game Plus, a new weekly Australian television show from several of the folks behind long-running video game show Level 3, was officially announced today. Not only that, but it will feature a monthly segment from your favourite gaming website, Rocket Chainsaw.

New Game Plus aims to bring a new take on gaming television, not only having a strong focus on the video game industry but also including other related subcultures, such as TV, anime and comics. Expect to see plenty of news, reviews, interviews and event coverage in each episode, from a range of specialist presenters.

Creator of the show, Jason O’Callaghan, had this to say, “It’s been a long road, but after a lot of hard work from our talented and dedicated crew, and a large community effort, we’ve managed to make our first ep. People said I was crazy when we said we were trying to make a new show in less than three months. Hell, I even had people wish death on me. However, as years of gaming has taught us, you can’t keep a good thing down”

In addition to this, Rocket Chainsaw will be producing a segment for New Game Plus that will air once a month (or every four episodes), the details of which we will be announcing at a later date.

The show is currently confirmed to air on several community television stations, including Channel 31 in Melbourne, TVS in Sydney and Triangle TV in New Zealand. The first episode is set to premiere on April 16, at 10pm on Channel 31, with other airings TBA.

If you would like to get involved in the Rocket Chainsaw segment, drop us a line at adam@rocketchainsaw.com.au. We’d be interested in hearing from anyone with experience in TV production, special effects, CGI or set building.
