Gears of War 4 Gearsmas has arrived, and this holiday season it’s all about ugly colour. The annual holiday event brings jolly cheer to the world of Gears of War, with this year being the first for Gears of War 4 which launched in October 2016. Gearsmas 2016 brings a heap of festive-themed items allowing players to brighten up their day and bring some Gearsmas cheer into their living rooms.

- 4x Gingerbread Weapon Skins
- 4x Festive Tree Weapon Skins
- 4x Snowman Weapon Skins

On top of the skins, there’s also some timed rewards to collect through the new Gears of War 4 Daily Reward system. On December 16, the there’s the Chuzzmas Emblem, and then on December 27 players will be rewarded with an Ice Boomshot.
The Coalition has also released a new festive game mode appropriately named Snowball Fight, where players can use the Ice Boomshot which fires snowballs. Look out though, as these snowballs are some of the most dangerous snowballs you’ve ever come across, and will still gib your enemies. Crossplay Versus is also back temporarily, allowing Xbox One players to go up against PC players, or compete together in squads of up to five players. Both temporary game modes will have 1.5x XP for the duration of the Gears of War 4 Gearsmas 2016 event.
Gears of War 4 is the first Gears of War title developed by The Coalition after Epic Games parted ways with the franchise after Gears of War: Judgment. The new iteration features an all new cast of characters, and was received well by fans and reviewers alike.
