  • NEWS: Continually playing with fans, Avalanche Studios has yet again teased another image of whatever it is to be their next game. Showing the same protagonist as their previous image, this one has the mysterious character jumping out of what we suspect is an air ship. Just Cause 3 or the rumoured Mad Max game? You decide!
  • NEWS: Are Microsoft and EA Games getting cosy? Maybe, if CVG are to be believed. According to their rumour, EA has entered into some kind of exclusivity or special partnership deal with Microsoft for their upcoming console. It could be exclusive (true or temporary) titles, DLC, or simply a focus on Microsoft’s next generation machine for game promotion. We’ll no doubt find out sooner rather than later, as both EA and Microsoft are projected to talk about their next-generation plans before E3 hits in June.
  • NEWS: The Natural Selection team has dated their Natural Selection 2 expansion pack for 28 February 2013. Titled “Gorgeous”, the pack includes engine improvements, bug fixes, weapons, features, and more surprises. Natural Selection 2 owners can look forward to not having to pay a cent for the pack, as the team promises the release is 100% free.
  • NEWS: Looking forward to a microtransaction future? If you’re an EA fan, we sure hope so. OXM has the scoop from EA’s recent business call, where they clarify that all of their next generation games will make use of microtransactions one way or another.

  • NEWS: The roster of PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale will grow a little larger in March, as PlayStation Blog announce both Zeus from God of War and Isaac Clark from Dead Space will be making their way to the crazy fighting tournament via downloadable content. Each character will cost US$4.99 to unlock, and for lucky US customers a voucher to unlock both characters will be bundled with God of War: Ascension. Fingers crossed we get a similar deal. In addition to the two characters, the map roster will be expanded to include a new arena based on the PlayStation 3 indy game The Unfinished Swan, wich in true Battle Royale fashion is meshed with MediEvil‘s Graveyard. This new map will be available for US$1.99.
  • NEWS: El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron is going cheap! For Xbox LIVE users, head over to the store to grab the beautiful, quirky, and oh-so-strange action game for US$2.99.
  • NEWS: The Ubisoft ship sure is leaky. Joining the details slipping out about Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is now an apparent box art, displaying an assassin themed pirate. Check it out.
  • NEWS: Capcom fans would do wise to pay attention to PAX East. According to Gematsu the publisher is scheduled to announce two new games at the Boston event on 22 March next month.
  • VIDEO: Naughty Dog has released the first in what is to be many videos detailing the development process for their upcoming The Last of Us. The developer intend to included extended versions of the documentary on the game’s disk, too.
