Anarchy Reigns coming in 2013

October 20, 2012

It’s been a long time coming. Platinum Games has confirmed, on their Twitter feed, that Anarchy Reigns will finally see the light of day in both the United States and Europe in 2013.

The manic beat-em-up, boasting a large roster of characters with unique moves and abilities, was released in Japan back in July of this year as Max Anarchy. Until now, a local release had been up in the air, SEGA continually delaying the title until they settled on a vague “sometime in 2013”. For eager fans this wasn’t too much of a problem, as the Japanese release was fully localised, both in voice and text, for English and other European languages. Region free compatibility on both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 made it a breeze to import, the only gateway being the frustratingly high price of buying and importing from Japan.

Accordingly to Platinum Games’ Twitter Anarchy Reign‘s English release will come at a special price and right out the gate of next year. The US can look forward to the game on 8 January 2013 for US$29.99 (~AU$29.00), meanwhile Europe will have it on 11 January 2013 for £19.99 (~AU$31) and €24.99 (~AU$31.50). An Australia/New Zealand specific date and price has yet to be announced, but given the low international cost importing is certainly a viable option. Especially since many who imported the Japanese release would have paid ~AU$90+.
