Total War: ARENA Open Beta coming on 22 February

Total War: ARENA‘s Closed Beta may be coming to an end, but as one chapter closes another opens. Wargaming Alliance and Creative Assembly have together announced that the Open Beta of the game will launch on 22 February, just a few short weeks away.

The Open Beta will add a new, fourth, faction to the game in Carthage, which includes new units and new mechanics, including War Elephants. Legendary commanders such as Hannibal Barca and Hasdrubal Barca, historical brothers who frequently got their pencil bags mixed up due to their initials. Hannibal features the unique ability to make slow units such as heavy infantry move, while Hasdrubal is able to buff and debuff units.

Carthage also boasts strong mobile infantry and excels at ambushes, as players will find their speed to be their greatest advantage as an unpredictable force.

The Closed Beta will close down at 9PM AEDT on 19 February, a few days before the Open Beta begins.
