Sunday Gaming News – 23/6/2013

June 23, 2013

It’s a pretty big Sunday today, with the 24 Hours of LeMans celebrating its 90th anniversary. Unfortunately, the event has been marred by tragedy, with the death of 34-year-old Aston Martin driver Allan Simonsen. We definitely recommend you find a stream to watch one of the great motorsport events in the world.

  • In an interview with IGN, Shigeru Miyamoto has revealed that Nintendo plans to hire more staff so they can run more internal projects, resulting in more titles, and new IPs from the company. He also hinted that Retro may work on a future Metroid title after they finish with Donkey Kong.
  • Dragon Quest X looks like it’s coming to PC (via NeoGAF). The MMO, which launched on the Wii last year, and on the Wii U earlier this year, is slated to hit the PC in September. No word on whether or not it will finally make its way outside of Japan, however. You can download a PC benchmark app for it here.
  • Some people noticed the… exceptional enthusiasm that Popcap’s representative showed when announcing Peggle 2 at E3 last week. Popcap also noticed, and put together this video to celebrate the moment:

  • The Bitmap Brothers Amiga classic The Chaos Engine is being remade, and that remake is now up for pre-order. The game will be available on Steam when it releases. Here’s a brief teaser that gives away nothing about the new title:
