With GamesCom 2019 just days away, Electronic Arts has today begun a Need for Speed countdown timer which is already set to expire in less than two days.

The Need for Speed countdown timer can be viewed at the official EA Need for Speed website, but provides no further information at this stage.

An expected timeline would involve a teaser reveal of the 24th Need for Speed game in the ever-growing popular racing franchise when the countdown hits zero, and then a full reveal at GamesCom 2019 early next week.

Which version of Need for Speed we will get is the big question, with the franchise taking many forms. Another Underground would be a fan favourite, while we can’t rule out a Hot Pursuit, or even Pro Street 2 to compete with Ubisoft’s GRID launching in October. Either way, it’s very likely the new Need for Speed will launch before the end of the year, as games in this franchise need little marketing to sell well to the casual gamer market at launch.
