Ice Age Scrat’s Nutty Adventure announced

Developer Just Add Water has announced they are working on a new game based on the Ice Age franchise. Titled Ice Age Scrat’s Nutty Adventure, the game is a 3D platformer and will be coming to Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PS4 and PC in Autumn (or Spring for Australia) this year.

The game will see the popular sabre-toothed squirrel, Scrat, embark on a quest to recover his acorn from the ancient Scratazon Temple. To do this he will have to find the legendary Crystal Nuts to unlock his prized acorn. Players will journey through several Ice Age locations, including icy terrains, raging geysers and lava fields. You will collect hidden treasures and unlock special powers for Scrat, such as the ability to jump higher and grab heavier objects – standard features of any platformer!

While videogame film tie-ins have historically received average reception from critics, the pre-alpha screenshots for Ice Age Scrat’s Nutty Adventure do look promising. This may yet prove to be a delightful surprise for fans of the franchise. You can check out the screenshots below.
