  • NEWS: As you’ve no doubt heard, THQ has today filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy  The company’s financial issues have hit a peak, and as per the standards of Chapter 11 have opened up the company for purchase. THQ’s assets are now under ownership of the Clearlake Capital Group, who are currently the highest bidder for the company, though can be outbid over a thirty day period. THQ has assured that early 2012 titles like South Park: The Stick of Truth are still on track for release, meanwhile a press statement issued by the company outlined future titles such as Homefront 2 and Saint’s Row 4. Though these titles are still part of THQ’s schedule, it is expect Clearlake will auction off assets and IPs to high bidders.
  • NEWS: Another day passes, another Team Fortress 2 update. This one is called the Mecha Update, and expands Mann Versus Machine with a new mechanised engineer. Along with a bunch of other goodies too. Check out the details, including a suitably hilarious Valve made comic, here.
  • VIDEO: Lightning returns, in Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII. Square-Enix’ trailer for the third in the Final Fantasy XIII trilogy is finally public.

  • VIDEO: Nintendo has announced the final two DLC packs for New Super Mario Bros. 2: Mystery Adventure and Impossible. The former challenges players to explore levels and discover secrets to maximise their coin count. Meanwhile the latter, built to challenge the best players, features no coins, no lives, and the score hinges entirely on how quickly the stages can be completed. And those stages are, according to Nintendo, the hardest ever built for a Super Mario Bros. title. Check out both in motion below.
