Ah, December. The final month of the year, bringing with it the heat of summer, and a season of giving and (probably) receiving. Anyway, for those of us who aren’t too busy playing around with our shiny new Wii U consoles (or waiting for patches to download), it’s time for today’s daily gaming news.

——————————————————————————————————————————

  • NEWS: PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale will be receiving its first patch next week. SuperBot Entertainment have confirmed that the patch will fix bugs and network issues, and that Sackboy has been nerfed, which is sure to please many players.
  • NEWS: Talking about their upcoming game, The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct, Activision have announced that series stars Norman Reedus and Michael Rooker will be reprising their roles as Daryl and Merle Dixon. That’s definitely good news for fans of the TV show.
  • VIDEO: Double Fine’s Kickstarter project may have hogged the spotlight, but they’ve got another upcoming game to share with us. Announced back in May, The Cave is an adventure game by Ron Gilbert, creator of the Monkey Island series. Check out the new trailer below.

  • NEWS: Zynga’s position continues to worsen, as most of their ties with Facebook have been cut. Zynga needs Facebook, with 90% of its revenue coming from the website, but Facebook doesn’t need Zynga. The company’s shares dropped by a huge 7% after the reveal of their revised contract.
  • NEWS: Blizzard have registered a new website called “ProjectBlackstone.com”. The name could refer to a couple of different things, and may offer a hint as to what Blizzard will be announcing soon. The URL isn’t connected to an actual web page at this point, but you can be sure that people will be watching to see if that changes.
  • VIDEO: Capcom have released a new trailer for the Wii U version of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, showing off new monsters and features.
