The Elder Scrolls Online Clockwork City Release Date Revealed

October 11, 2017

ZeniMax Online has today finally revealed The Elder Scrolls Online Clockwork City release date. The DLC along with Horns of the Reach were originally revealed as large DLC packs coming to ESO when they launched the first full expansion for the massively multiplayer online game: Morrowind.

In the world of Tamriel, its very existence is a closely guarded secret. The entrance to this covert city lies hidden in a secret underground vault, and its location is known to only a select few beyond Sotha Sil’s inner circle. But later this year, intrepid explorers will brave the Clockwork God’s mechanical masterwork for the first time ever in The Elder Scrolls Online‘s newest DLC game pack, Clockwork City.

We chose the Clockwork City to be The Elder Scrolls Online’s next zone because it’s a unique location that we haven’t fully explored,” says Creative Director Rich Lambert. “This is Sotha Sil’s realm. It’s his interpretation of how the world looks, how it works, or perhaps how he wants it to be. The entire realm was fabricated, so it’s very different from what we’ve done before – which is really cool. And, of course, it’s Sotha Sil, and Elder Scrolls fans love Sotha Sil. He’s a mad genius.

The new DLC is expected in the same week as some massive titles such as Destiny 2 (PC), Assassin’s Creed Origins, Super Mario Odyssey and Wolfenstein II: The New Collossus, and we can now reveal that the Clockwork City release date is October 23, 2017 for Windows PC, while console owners will have to wait an extra couple of weeks until November 7.

Rocket Chainsaw reviewed The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind giving it 4.5 stars, and saying that it “has turned The Elder Scrolls Online into the MMORPG that it deserves to be”. We also went hands-on with the Horns of the Reach DLC in August which you can check out here.

Clockwork City will be available for 2000 crowns in the Crown Store, or the Clockwork City Collector’s Bundle will be also available for 4000 crowns in the Crown Store which also grants you the Clockwork Skeevaton pet, the Kagouti Fabricant mount, and Five Crown Experience Scrolls.

With the Clockwork City release date set for October 23, The Elder Scrolls Online looks set to continue on its path to build one of the biggest MMORPG communities. Don’t forget, The Elder Scrolls Online is free to play after the initial purchase, and players can buy an ESO Plus subscription for $15USD a month which gives you heaps of bonuses including access to all DLC packs for free.
