February 27, 2016

Nintendo has officially announced Pokemon Moon and Pokemon Sun will be coming to the Nintendo 3DS late this year.

The announcement was made during the company’s Pokemon Direct presentation. It was revealed the games will be released in nine languages, including English, Japanese, French, Italian, Dutch and Spanish. Of particular note is the games will be released in both traditional and simplified Chinese. In recent years Pokemon fans in China have signed petitions for Nintendo to support localisation of the series, so no doubt this news will please them.

Also revealed was the re-releases of Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow on the 3DS Virtual Console will support the Pokemon Bank application. Players can use the feature to transfer Pokemon to Pokemon Moon and Pokemon Sun. Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow releases are now available from the Nintendo e-Shop.
