Following on from the showing at Microsoft’s press conference earlier today, EA has revealed further details about Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2.

While the first Garden Warfare game focused on the Plants defending their city against the invading Zombie Hoard, Garden Warfare 2 will focus on the Plants taking the fight to Professor Zomboss.

The game will include a new Graveyard Ops mode, which is similar to Garden Ops, but will focus on the Zombies defending their base against hordes of Plants.

There will be 6 new characters coming with the game, with the 3 new Zombie characters being revealed during the conference. We will now have access to the Imp who can call in a mech suit, Captain Deadbeard who calls in a cannon turret and SuperBrainz who uses melee attacks.

It was unveiled that all modes in Garden Warfare 2 can be played solo offline or in split screen co-op and that almost all characters from the original game will be able to be transferred over to Garden Warfare 2 at launch.

Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 will come out in Autumn, with free content to be release periodically post-release.
