Daily Gaming News – 9/11/2012

November 9, 2012

I traded in my copy of 3D Dot Game Heroes today, to put down a pre-order for Call of Duty: Black Ops II. My God, what have I done?

“What you always do: turn death into a fighting chance to live.”

Oh, here’s today’s news too.

——————————————————————————————————————————

  • NEWS: A limited edition Anarchy Reigns ‘Day One’ SKU has been announced, via press release. If you’re extra keen to get onto this Platinum Games-developed title, pre-ordering this edition will reward you with two multiplayer game modes – Mad Survival and Dogfight – as well as a new playable character, Bayonetta from Bayonetta. I can hear Jahanzeb opening his wallet already.
  • NEWS: Speaking of pre-orders, Gears of War: Judgement has just added a whole lot of pre-order incentives, too. Microsoft have informed us that Australians who pre-order the game from EB Games or JB Hi-Fi will receive an exclusive multiplayer weapon – The Classic Hammerburst. EB Games customers will also receive a ‘Young Marcus’ character skin, while JB consumers will get a ‘Young Dom’. If you find yourself forever unable to choose your favourite between the two, you’ll just have to pick up the game twice. Additional incentives will be announced in the coming weeks.
  • VIDEO: A wild Crysis 3 Hunter trailer has appeared:

  • NEWS: Activision have also been in touch, to let us know that Call of Duty: Black Ops II will support live streaming via YouTube. The feature will allow players to broadcast their League Play games through the internet’s most popular video service, along with the players’ webcams and audio commentary simultaneously.
  • NEWS: EA have announced The Sims 3 70’s, 80’s & 90’s Stuff Pack. In a shocking twist, this add-on does not give your Sims the ability to summon ancient deep ones to do battle with humanity, but in fact adds a lot of retro hairstyles, furniture and clothes from those eras. It’ll be out on 24th January, 2013.
  • VIDEO: An introduction to The Elder Scrolls Online, in the form of a developer diary has been published.

  • NEWS: The final boss of PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale has been revealed indirectly through its opening cinematic as ‘Polygon Man’, one of Sony’s mascots in the 90’s. I could have gone for that T-Rex that was on the demo disc, personally, but whatever.
  • NEWS: According to Game Informer, Grand Theft Auto V will feature not one, but three protagonists. They all look very cross.
  • VIDEO: The new motiony-controlly Marvel game, Marvel Avengers: Battle for Earth is now available, and has a launch trailer.
