Ubisoft Announces That Assassins Creed, Far Cry 5 And More Coming This Year

May 17, 2017

During their latest fiscal earnings conference Ubisoft have confirmed the existence of two rumoured games, as well as making a brand new game announcement, all to be released this fiscal year. These confirmations can be viewed in their fiscal earnings PDF here.

While the subtitle was not confirmed, Ubisoft revealed that a new Assassin’s Creed game will release before April next year. Joining it will be Far Cry 5, a game which has been rumoured to be set in the Wild West.

Along with Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry 5, Ubisoft also revealed that their open world MMO racer The Crew will receive a sequel this fiscal year. Finally, they also confirmed that the much delayed South Park: The Fractured But Whole will release before April 2018.

Along with these AAA titles, Ubisoft also announced that they have an unannounced game in development for the Nintendo Switch, which will likely be the long rumoured Rabbids x Mario RPG. They also confirmed they have other games in development for Switch. The vagueness of that statement leads us to believe that they were likely just talking about the Switch ports of Steep and Rayman Legends.

Along with all of these titles for this fiscal year, Ubisoft also announced that they will release a brand new AAA IP next year. We expect this will be the space game that they teased earlier this year.

While they have yet to confirm an E3 press conference for this year, we expect more details will come during E3 2017.
