Yakuza 1 Extreme and Yakuza 6 Announced

SEGA have brought the noise during Sony’s Tokyo Game Show keynote and announced not one, but two new Yakuza games for PlayStation systems.

Yakuza 1 Extreme is a full remake of the original PlayStation 2 release of Yakuza with some additional content as well. Citing the PlayStation 2 as a limiting factor when Yakuza was conceived and created, SEGA will expand the remake with brand new content that had to be cut from the original release.

Nothing was shown for Yakuza 6, except for a slide confirming its existence. SEGA have announced that the debut trailer will be unveiled during the Tokyo Game Show.

Yakuza 1 Extreme will be released on both PlayStation 3 and 4, while Yakuza 6 will be exclusive to the PlayStation 4. While no release dates have been announced for the West, with the recent release of Yakuza 5 there is some hope yet that we will see the games come here.
