XCOM 2 Announced

June 2, 2015

After posting a teaser for a new unannounced game last week, 2K Games has announced the sequel to 2012’s XCOM: Enemy Unknown, XCOM 2.

The game takes place after the Alien threat from the previous game has taken over the earth. XCOM has now gone underground and you will be launching counter attacks and researching from a mobile base named ‘The Avenger’. As with past XCOM games, you will need to loot enemies for gear and artefacts, as well as researching new upgrades and equipment. XCOM 2 will also include a new character class, taking the total to 5, as well as a head to head multiplayer mode that will be played on generated maps.

After XCOM: Enemy Unknown won critical acclaim in 2012, it’s safe to say that there are some high expectations to live up to with the sequel. XCOM 2 is being developed by Firaxis Games and will be released on Windows PC, Mac and Linux in November 2015.
