It feels like it’s been forever, but E3 2021 is official here. We’re now into the second official day of the show, with the E3 2021 Xbox + Bethesda Showcase kicking the day off in style. There’s no doubt at all that the Xbox + Bethesda showcase was the most anticipated of the lot at E3 2021, with 90 minutes of announcements promised. There were plenty of games shown off, with the show very much living up to the expectations coming in. With a 3AM AEST start time though, it’s also the earliest show so far and therefore the most difficult for people to have gotten up for.

For those that didn’t want to get up in the wee hours of the morning, here’s our Xbox + Bethesda E3 2021 Showcase wrap up:

  • The show opened with Todd Howard introducing a short in-game teaser of Bethesda Softworks first new IP in years, It showed a human character taking off in a spaceship from a Moon-like planet, with a release date of 11/11/22 shown. The game will be exclusive to PC and Xbox Series X|S.

  • The second game shown was one that was announced last year and is planned for release next year, T.A.L.K.E.R. 2. It was a decently long trailer, combining snippets of gameplay and story, and gave a good look at the game. It releases on 28/04/2022. The game will release on Game Pass on Day One.

  • Then it was on to another look at Turtle Rock’s Back 4 Blood. The Left 4 Dead-esque co-op shooter releases on 12/10/2021 and will be a Day One Game Pass release.

  • Next up was a new co-op open world game from ­Just Cause studio Avalanche named We only got a small teaser, along with confirmation of a Day One Game Pass release.

  • Then we got a look at a massive collaboration for Sea of Thieves, with Jack Sparrow and other Pirates of the Caribbean characters coming to the game in the near future. There will also be new weapons, enemies and what seems to be a new story campaign as well. It’s titled Sea of Thieves: A Pirate’s Life and is coming on June 22.

  • Then we got a trailer confirming that Yakuza: Like a Dragon is coming to Game Pass otoday.

  • Next up it was time for the gameplay reveal of Battlefield 2042, with a 128-player pre-alpha multiplayer match showing off plenty of gunplay and vehicular combat as well. We also caught a glimpse of some of the game’s extreme weather, which looks to be a sight to behold. The game releases on 22/20/2021.

  • Now it’s time for another glimpse of Twleve Minutes, which is releasing on 19/08/2021 and will be available on Game Pass at release.

  • Now it’s Double Fine’s turn, with a trailer for the long in-development Psychonauts 2. After a successful crowdfunding campaign and plenty of delays, the game is looking great and releasing on 25/08/2021. As an Xbox developed game, it will release on Game Pass on day one.

  • Then it was time for some further Bethesda news, with another 10 Bethesda games coming to Game Pass in the near future, including the next-gen upgrade for Doom Eternal. This section ended with an update on Fallout 76, with the next lot of story content focusing on the Brotherhood of Steel and a division in their ranks. Then we got a short teaser for next year’s next big expansion.

  • Next up was a short Elder Scrolls Online trailer revealing some details on the Xbox Series X|s version of the game coming soon.

  • Next was a very short trailer giving us a look at Party Animals, another day one Game Pass game coming next year. Think of

  • Then we got confirmation that Hades is coming to Xbox platforms on August 13, with a day one Game Pass release on the platform as well.

  • Next was another Xbox console launch exclusive, with a trailer for Rleasing in 2022, with a Game Pass day one release, this is from an ex-developer at Playdead – makers of Limbo and Inside.

  • We’re a little over 30 minutes in now and it’s finally time for Halo Infinite. We got a new trailer for the single player campaign, which gave us a glimpse of some story. We also got confirmation that the game will feature a free to play multiplayer component, with both releasing in Holiday 2021.

  • Next was our next look at Diablo 2: Resurrected, the remake of the Diablo game that set the world on fire. Releasing on 23/09/2021, the game will have an Xbox Series X|S optomised version and looks like a truly classic Diablo

  • Next was another new game reveal, with a look at A Plague Tale: Requiem. It was just a short teaser trailer, but it looks like the ravenous hordes of killer rats are back, along with a much lighter looking location. The game is coming in 2022 and will be a day one Game Pass release.

  • Now it’s time for our third Far Cry 6 showing of the last week, with another highly edited gameplay trailer giving us short glimpses of some action in the game.

  • Now we’ve got another Xbox console launch exclusive, with the reveal of Slime Rancher 2. The adorable slimes are back and it’s up to you to pen them in again. There wasn’t too much shown of the game, but it sure looked like Slime Rancher. The game is coming in 2022 and will be another day one Game Pass release.

  • Then we got a look at a new snowboarding game called There were plenty of electronic beats, along with confirmation that the game releases in 2021 and will come to Game Pass on release.

  • Next was our fist look at Atomic Heart in quite a while, with confirmation that this is another Game Pass day one release.

  • Then it was time for another Xbox console launch exclusive, with the announcement of Replace, a stylish 2D action game that, you guessed it, is coming to Game Pass day one on release in 2022.

  • Now we’re back to an Xbox Game Studios developed game, with an update on content coming to The trailer included confirmation on the ability to sit on chairs, pets and mushrooms, as well as a new spider enemy that’s coming to the game. The Shroom and Doom update is coming on June 30.

  • Next up was an update on Among Us, with confirmation the game is coming to Xbox soon and will release on Game Pass at release. It also confirmed 15 player lobbies are coming to the game.

  • Then we got confirmation of Eiyuden Chronicles, the Suikoden spiritual successor, would be coming to Xbox Series X|S with a new gameplay trailer for the crowdfunded game. We also got confirmation of a new 2D game, Eiyuden Chronicles Rising, which will release in 2022 and come to Game Pass.

  • Next up was our next look at the upcoming The Ascent, which releases on July 29th and is coming to Game Pass on Day One.

  • Then we got our next look at Age of Empires 4. We got plenty of gameplay footage of the real-time strategy game, along with confirmation that it will release on October 28th for PC.

  • Now it’s time for another new Xbox Game Studios game. We got confirmation of The Outer Worlds 2, with a short CG teaser trailer confirming that the sequel to the 2019 RPG is in development now for PC and Xbox Series X|S.

  • Now another Xbox Game Studios game, with our first look at the console version of Microsoft Flight Simulator. The game was shown off using footage captured on an Xbox Series X console and it’s still looking fantastic. It releases on July 27.

  • We’re really moving through the Xbox Game Studios games now, with the reveal of Forza Horizon 5. Set in Mexico, the next instalment in the Forza Horizon series is bringing the series open world gameplay to a new location on November 9.

  • Finally, we got one last game, with the reveal of a new immersive open world shooter from Arkane Austin. Revealed via a CGI trailer, the Sci-Fi co-op shooter looks to be a fantasy game with plenty of supernatural elements, with vampires and special abilities abounding. Redfall releases in Winter next year for PC and Xbox Series X|S.
