WWE Super Show-Down PPV Announced for MCG in October

June 17, 2018

It’s not always we wake up to learn that practically the entire WWE roster including some WWE Hall of Fame members will be coming to town in less than six months for one of the biggest WWE events in history, but that’s exactly what’s happened this morning with the announcement of the WWE Super Show-Down Pay Per View.

WWE Super Show-Down will stream live from the Melbourne Cricket Ground around the world via the WWE Network, similar to the Greatest Royal Rumble held earlier this year in Saudi Arabia. Vince McMahon is promising almost every member of the RAW and Smackdown locker-room, as well as hall of famers Kurt Angle, The Big Show and The Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels.

The eyes of the world will be on the Melbourne Cricket Ground in October when thousands of visitors from across Australia and the world descend on our great city for WWE Super Show-Down,” said Victorian Minister for Tourism & Major Events, John Eren. “The Victorian Government will keep bringing the biggest events to our state because these events are good for our economy, good for our tourism industry and good for local jobs.

The first match has already been revealed, and it is being called The End of an Era match, with Triple H facing off for the very last time against The Undertaker in what will surely be the fight that stops a nation.

Ronda Rousey, Braun Strowman, AJ Styles and Roman Reigns have also made some short promos for the event which we’ll leave at the bottom of the article.

Rocket Chainsaw had the pleasure of attending the WWE Live Australia event held at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne last August, getting to meet and greet WWE Superstars Sasha Banks and Titus O’Niel. Check out our full review of the WWE Live Australia show here.

WWE 2K18 launched in October last year on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC, Rocket Chainsaw reviewed it giving it three stars and saying, “While it is indeed the most expansive WWE 2K game to date, and there are many memorable moments to be had, it’s stops miles short of being as good as it should be.

While there is no mention of Brock Lesnar, we can always hope the WWE Universal Championship will make an appearance when the WWE Super Show-Down comes to Australia on October 6 at the G. Tickets will be available on Thursday, June 28 at 10AM via Ticketek, and there will also be an exclusive Telstra Thanks pre-sale which runs from June 22 at 12PM until June 26 at 10PM.
