Here Are The WoW Classic Oceanic Server Names

August 13, 2019

With the WoW Classic name reservations officially underway as of this morning, today we have the official announcement of the WoW Classic Oceanic server names for players in Australia and New Zealand and other nearby oceanic locales.

There will be just two WoW Classic oceanic servers at launch, one PVP and one Normal. The PVP server will be named Arugal, while the Normal server will be named Remulos.

World of Warcraft originally launched in 2004 with no oceanic servers, and it wasn’t until very late in the vanilla timeframe when we began to see servers like Frostmourne and Barthilas appear for Aussie and Kiwi players. Many original WoW players flocked to US servers like Boulderfist which quickly earnt nicknames like Boulderlag due to the high pings and frustrations that oceanic players faced in WoW’s early days.

We know that WoW Classic will run on patch 1.12 which was when world PVP events were added to Silithus and Eastern Plaguelands. All raids will be ready to go at launch, though players are going to have to work through Molten Core and Blackwing Lair before tackling AQ40 and Naxxramas again.

We have also been informed that players will be told whether servers are reaching capacity, giving you the option to change to a different one before starting your WoW Classic adventure. We expect the PVP server will be high in demand at launch, and hopefully Blizzard will provide a second server with free transfers if required in the launch period.

We will release details regarding realm names and realm types later this week so you can coordinate with your friends on where to begin your adventure”, Blizzard said in a post to their official forums, “If there are high numbers of players congregating on individual realms during the name reservation/character creation process, we will post warnings about the potential for long queues on those realms, giving you time to choose alternate realms.

WoW Classic will officially launch in Australia at 8AM on the 27th of August. Check here for our full release date reveal write-up, and for more information head to the official WoW Classic website.
