World of Tanks celebrates the World Cup with Tank Football

With the biggest event in world football happening at the moment, the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, World of Tanks has decided to get in on the action for all of its players on PC. The Tank Football mode will return with ‘Tank Football 2018’, with 3v3 matches taking place in three special arenas, including one inspired by the Luzhniki, Moscow’s biggest stadium and host to the final of the World Cup.

In addition, Gianluigi ‘Gigi’ Buffon, widely regarded as one of the greatest goalkeepers of all tie, will be included as a commentator, as the official voice of the matches who will cheer players on.

“Just when you think you’ve seen it all, World of Tanks will surprise you in the best possible way,” said Gianluigi Buffon. “I was excited to be a part of the Italian tanks release. Now they’ve blended my lifelong passion with tank combat. Roll out and see a little more of my skills!”

Three unique tanks that fit specialist football roles with their own abilities will be part of the mode as well, which seems inspired by Rocket League. The Tank Football mode will run until 29 July.
