There’s no doubt that this year’s Ubisoft Forward was a somewhat compromised experience. We’ve had massive leaks in the lead up to it, from the existence of Far Cry 6 and its box art, to multiple Assassin’s Creed Valhalla gameplay leaks which revealed a HD version of the game’s map.
Still, the show must go on, with Ubisoft showing off a suite of games that will all release by February 2020, along with the announcement that another Ubisoft Forward is coming soon.
Without further ado, here is our Ubisoft Forward summary:
- The show opened with a short film for Watch Dogs Legion, with a live action trailer talking to how the London has reached the point of surveillance state dystopia found in the game’s setting, while also showing off some parkour action at the same time. It was certainly stylish.
- From there, the game shifted into a developer monologue, talking to how you can recruit your characters and how the story/interactions change to who you’re using, before moving into a new gameplay trailer introducing our villain Nigel Albion along with the game’s release date.
- Then it was on to Brawhalla, and the announcement that the game is coming to mobiles on August 6th.
- Want more mobile games? It was then on to a trailer reminding people of the existence of Might and Magic Era of Chaos, along with the announcement of Ghost Recon Elite Squad, a new mobile shooter. You can pre-register for Elite Squad here.
- Next up was Hyper Scape, with a brand new CGI trailer showing off some more of the stylish action that makes up the battle royale shooter, before confirming the game would enter open beta immediately.
- Next up was what we’ve all been waiting for, our first real look at Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, with the combat looking more deliberate than past games.
- Finally, it was on a final CGI trailer, showing off Far Cry 6 officially for the first time, with two separate trailers unveiling the game’s main antagonist Anton and his son Diego.
