  • Nintendo have revealed that the Poké Transporter, which allows the transfer of Pokemon from previous games to X & Y, will only support a one way trip. Meaning that once a Pokémon is sent to X & Y, they will never be able to go back… never.
  • The PS4s Dual Shock 4 controller will be compatible with PCs at launch, according to a tweet from Sony’s Shuhei Yoshida today. It’s still unclear whether all functions (such as lights etc) will be compatible.
  • The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker has hit the Wii U this week with relative success. In an interview with 4Gamer, series producer Eli Aonuma revealed that the HD upgrade took a meagre 6 months in total. OK cool, now try Majora’s Mask.

  • United Front Games, the developer behind Sleeping Dogs, has announced they are working on a new title set in the Sleeping Dogs universe called Triad Wars. UFG’s blogpost read “We’re super-excited that it’s another game based in the Sleeping Dogs universe, it’s something we’ve wanted to do for ages, and we’re very happy to be working with Square Enix again… but that’s all we can give you for the time being”.
  • The latest post in the Steam Community revealed that the upcoming Steam Machine is not designed to replace high powered PCs, but rather used as a tool to stream the content to the living room. “The prototype we’re talking about here is not meant to replace that” reads the statement. “Many of [our] users would like to have a way to bridge the gap into the living room without giving up their existing hardware and without spending lots of money.”
  • Injustice: Gods Among Us has announced an Ultimate Edition to be released for PS3, PS4 PC, X360 and PSV but no word as yet for XONE or Wii U. The game will include all downloadable content – including characters such as Batgirl, General Zod, Martian Manhunter, and Zatanna.

  • The Writers’ Guild have announced the shortlist for this years WG Awards. The nominees are Rhianna Pratchet for Tomb Raider, Mike Bithell for Thomas Was Alone and Graham Goring for Lego City Undercover. The winner will be announced at the ceremony in London this November.
  • Last night Microsoft’s Larry “Major Nelson” Hyrb tweeted “We do not collect information to share or sell. You are fully in control of your personal data. Your privacy is important to us.” This is in direct retaliation to the Ad Age controversy outlined here suggesting the Kinect 2.0 could be used to collect marketing data.
  • Sony have officially announced via their blog that Grand Theft Auto V is the best selling digital PS3 release in Europe and the US taking the title from previous record holder, The Last of Us.
