The Witcher 3: Complete Edition Is Coming To PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X

September 5, 2020

There’s no doubt that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is one of the most revered games of this generation, and with good reason. The game and both of its expansions packs were incredibly high quality adventures filled with hours upon hours of content to explore. Combine this with plenty of free updates and DLC, as well as handing out free copies on GOG for players that owned the game on any other platform, and it feels like the whole world owns it. Now, CD Projekt Red have announced the next step for The Witcher 3, and that’s a new version coming to PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X.

The next generation version of The Witcher 3 will bring Geralt’s adventure to PS5 and Xbox Series X, with all improvements also making their way back to the PC version of the game. This will include ray tracing support, faster loading times and HDR on PC, as well as a range of other unspecified visual and technical improvements. The best part though? This will be completely free for players that already own the game on PC, PS4 or Xbox One. There’s no confirmation on just how that will work, but it’s worth assuming that the free upgrade will only be available within the same console family, as has been the case with other games.

We don’t know when this next generation version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be available for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X, but given Cyberpunk 2077 is out in a couple of months, it might be a while away.
