Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown Finally Revealed

July 8, 2020

It’s been almost a decade since we explored the island of Ibiza (and Oahu again) in Test Drive Unlimited 2 by Eden Games, and now with a change of ownership and some behind-the-scenes reshaping of the in-house development teams, Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown was finally revealed by BigBen Interactive and developers Nancon at the Nancon Connect event overnight.

The reveal came with a short trailer showing off some of the vehicles that will be available in Test Drive Unlimted Solar Crown, as well as the pretty new crown logo which was actually revealed a few days ago.

Vehicles and car brands shown in the trailer and known to be in the game include Bugatti, Dodge, Ferrari, the Koenigsegg Agera and Regera, Lamborghini, and the Porsche 911, 918 Spyder, Carrera and Cayenne. Expect many more vehicles to be announced closer to the game’s launch.

Nothing else is known about Test Drive Unlimted Solar Crown yet, but if they stick to the structure of the first two games then expect a massive map where you can buy cars and homes while participating in an open-world filled with other players and AI vehicles.

Last year’s leaks also suggested the game could be heading south of the border, taking place somewhere in South America, and the map could be as large as The Crew 2 though at the Nancon Connect event they did announce it will be on an island.

The news wasn’t unexpected. The name “Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown” was leaked last year via a rogue employee, and then a few days ago the official Test Drive twitter account tweeted this:

Currently it has been confirmed that the game will launch on PC via Steam, and we’re also expecting it to launch on the next-generation consoles at some stage in 2021. Stay tuned to Rocket Chainsaw for all the latest information on Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown.
