Tekken 7 Season 4 Announced

August 2, 2020

At this point, there is absolutely no question that Tekken 7 has been a massive success for Bandai Namco. The game has sold massive numbers of copies and has had three successful seasons of content so far. That obviously wasn’t enough, however, as Tekken 7 Season 4 was announced at the Fighting Games Showcase that happened yesterday in Japan, likely in lieu of the ability to announce updates at EVO this year.

As past seasons have included a range of characters and content, Tekken 7 Season 4 will bring some pretty big updates and changes to the game. Part of this will be brand new moves for every single character in the game, potentially shaking up the meta across the entire professional scene. There’s also improvements coming to the online experience, which potentially points to the game’s rollback netcode being tightened; something which was previously discussed by game director Katsuhiro Harada on Twitter. While it wasn’t explicitly confirmed that the season would include new characters, every season before it has expanded the game’s roster, and the announcement trailer teased the potential inclusion of Kunimitsu, a fighter that hasn’t appeared in the series since Tekken 2.

Beyond that, no other details are known about Tekken 7 Season 4, beyond the fact that it will release during Spring this year for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Stay tuned to Rocket Chainsaw as more information becomes available.
