Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum ‘n’ Fun! gets DonKatsu Fight multiplayer mode

August 13, 2019

Bandai Namco has announced a free update is now available for Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum ‘n’ Fun! on Nintendo Switch. The update brings a new one-on-one competitive multiplayer mode to game titled DonKatsu Fight.

In DonKatsu Fight players compete against each other to see who can perform a song better. On-screen the avatars of each player will fight, with health depleting based on how well you perform. Crazy power-ups will appear during the stage, with some speeding up your opponent’s music notes, hiding their marker or concealing the note score. The mode can be played with another person or with an AI opponent.

Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum ‘n’ Fun! is a rhythm game where players have to beat a drum in time with the music. Nintendo Switch owners can purchase a separate drum peripheral, use the Joycon controller’s motion controls or just press the regular buttons on their controller. The soundtrack listing in the game features several Japanese songs as well as a handful of classical and Nintendo-themed tunes.
