During their E3 2015 presentation video, Nintendo revealed Star Fox Zero for the Wii U.

Star Fox Zero is a reimagining of the Star Fox franchise and features the return of Fox, Slippy, Peppy, and Falco, as they attempt to rescue the Lylat System from war. In the game, players have the ability to transform their Arwing into a new Walker mode. There will also be a new Gyrowing vehicle, and an updated Landmaster which has a limited flight transformation. Players will be able to replay levels using different vehicles and access extra missions.

The Wii U GamePad is used to give players a view of the cockpit while the TV has a third person view. This allows for a unique interface where players can fly in one direction and shoot in the other.

According to a facts sheet released by Nintendo, the game has been developed in a partnership with Platnium Games. Star Fox Zero is scheduled to be released during the Christmas season.
