Splatoon 3 Splats Onto Nintendo Switch in 2022

February 18, 2021

We’re massive fans of Splatoon here at Rocket Chainsaw, with both the original and sequel filling up massive chunks of our gaming time over the years. With Nintendo ramping up Splatfests again, we had been hoping for some news relating to the series soon and Nintendo have delivered during today’s Nintendo Direct, announcing Splatoon 3.

Splatoon 3 will splat its way onto Nintendo Switch in 2022, with the game getting a good, long trailer right at the end of the Nintendo Direct. The trailer showed off two brand new environments: the Splatlands, which seems to be a big badlands styled area, and Splatsville, the new hub area. There’s going to be plenty of new weapons, with a new bow weapon shown off, while new movement mechanics have been introduced with the game as well, allowing inklings to surge forwards through their ink or jump up with a twirl.

Splatoon 3 launches exclusively for Nintendo Switch in 2022, but in the meantime you can check out the announcement trailer below.
