Sony announce one billion hours of play by Aussie PlayStation owners

Sony has announced via a press release that Australian PlayStation fans have reached a a combined total of one billion hours of play in the last 12 months.

The figure is based on the dates of November 2016 to October 2017 inclusive, and includes time spent playing games, music, TV and video services on PlayStation systems. The figure is an increase of 26 per cent from the previous 12 month period. In particular, music, TV and video consumption on PlayStation had increased 45 per cent in the last 12 months.

Sony also noted that the Digital Australia 2018 Report revealed that 67 per cent of Australians play video games and more than 3.7 million people are subscribed to a streaming service. Not skipping a beat, Sony took the opportunity to remind fans the PlayStation 4 provides music and video services across the PlayStation Store and third party apps including Spotify, Stan, Netflix and Foxtel Now.
