Sega has announced Sonic Mania will be released on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC on 15 August this year. The announcement comes with a new trailer for the game, which can be viewed below.

Sonic Mania is set to return Sonic and friends to their 2D roots, featuring gameplay and visuals in the style of earlier Sega Mega Drive/Genesis adventures. There will be several new levels as well as “remixed” versions of fan favourites including Green Hill Zone from the original Sonic the Hedgehog.
