Smite Tactics announced

Hi-Rez Studios has announced, via a press release, that they are developing Smite Tactics.

The game is a turned based strategy game set in the same universe as the MOBA Smite, so expect to see several familiar faces. Players must choose which minions to deploy onto the battlefield and pick a god to lead them. Armies are built via a collectible card system prior to the battle. Each unit will have its own unique abilities and animations, with the developer noting they no longer have to worry about balancing animation time like in the MOBA game. So, for example, a sword strike can be a long and powerful sweep across the field. There will be 1v1 ranked competitive modes as well as adventure modes where players compete against the AI.

A closed beta is set to begin later this year, with sign-ups now available via the official Smite Tactics website. The game will be coming to PC, but as yet a console release has not been confirmed. You can check out a reveal trailer below.
