BANDAI NAMCO today released a new Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown VR trailer which puts you in the cockpit and brings you closer to being a fighter pilot than ever before.

The seventh instalment of Ace Combat 7 will present an alternative universe composed of real-world current and future weapons, with a history steeped in the Ace Combat lore that fans have come to love.

The new Skies Unknown VR component looks to create an experience like no other flying game has seen before, similar to the Forza Vista mode that we’ve come to love in the Forza Motorsport series. Browse around your fighter jet in virtual reality before jumping in it and heading to the runway.

We can also confirm Ace Combat 7 will have special VR missions made specifically for the PlayStation VR, with what Bandai Namco are saying will be “unprecedented immersion“.

The release date for Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown is as confirmed as the skies in its subtitle, however we do know we’ll get our hands on it in 2018. Expect Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown VR on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC platforms.
