Yu Suzuki and Deep Silver has unfortunately today been the bearer of bad news, announcing a new Shenmue III release date in the wake of some last minute polishing forcing a 3 month delay in a game many of us have been waiting 18 long years to play.

The news comes just days out from E3 2019 where Shenmue III is expected to be on display in a near-complete playable mode.

Shenmue III was originally scheduled to release two years ago in 2017, however it has become clear over the years  that Deep Silver is in no rush to release an unfinished product.

After a lengthy hiatus to the Shenmue series (the previous game launched in 2001 on Sega Dreamcast and the original Xbox), Shenmue III had an overwhelmingly successful Kickstarter campaign, with the funding smashing past the $1 million USD mark in less than two hours. With many stretch targets reached, the final amount of $6.6 million USD means Shenmue III will have plenty of additional content that fans seem to definitely be craving.

The new Shenmue III release date is November 19, 2019 and it will launch on PlayStation 4 and Windows PC platforms. For more information, head to the official Shenmue website here.
