One of the most frustrating part of this lead up to the next generation of consoles has been the lack of information we have, despite being a couple of months away from release. We have specs, we’ve seen some games, but we’ve been decidedly lacking in launch details, such as release date or price. Now, we’ve got more information than ever, with the US price and release date of the Xbox Series X leaking out today via Windows Central, following the leak of the Xbox Series S earlier today.

Finally, we know when to expect the Xbox Series S and X, along with having prices for both. The leak points to a release date of Tuesday November 10th, lining up closely to the 19th anniversary of Halo: Combat Evolved and 16th anniversary of Halo 2. This date makes complete sense to us and looks entirely plausible. The price of the Xbox Series X was confirmed at $499 USD in the leak. This is the same price the original Xbox One launched at, but with the Australian currency much weaker now, don’t expect a repeat of the Australian price here. A better example would be the Nvidia RTX 3070, which will be $499 USD in the USA and $809 here.

Obviously there’s still the chance that this leak could be incorrect, but given where the leak has come from and how close we are to launch, it definitely looks likely to be correct. Either way, we’re likely to find out soon from Xbox themselves.
