Rumour: The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword Coming To Switch

August 17, 2020

As of right now, the second half of 2020 looks mightily anemic as far as Nintendo releases go. July saw the release of Paper Mario: The Origami King (Which Joseph called a great entry in the series), while for the remainder of the year the only game with a release date is Pikmin 3 Deluxe. With the Nintendo Switch continuing to sell gangbusters regardless of game releases, it’s no surprise that Nintendo has taken the moment for a breather, but it looks like at least one more game is coming this year with The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword for Nintendo Switch appearing on Amazon UK.

Speculation has been mounting that a Nintendo Direct is finally coming this month, and a surprise announcement of Skyward Sword for Nintendo Switch would absolutely fit the bill for a Direct announcement. Originally critiqued for its frustrating motion controls, a Switch port would suggest that the game will be updated to have a more standard control scheme. Without on, the game wouldn’t be playable on Switch Lite without additional joy-cons (which is obviously still a possibility). It would also give Legend of Zelda fans something to tide themselves over with in the lead up to the series 30th anniversary next year and the eventual release of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2.

There are no further details available at this time, but stay tuned to Rocket Chainsaw in the future as we cover any further details as they become available.
