Rockstar Games has teased they will soon be making an announcement concerning the future of the Red Dead franchise.

The company’s Twitter, Facebook and official website have all been updated to show the Rockstar Games logo in a red colour motif. The theme was a key component in Red Dead Redemption‘s visual aesthetic and used heavily in marketing materials.

It has been rumoured a Red Dead 3 announcement has been on the cards for several months. A leaked world map did the rounds on the internet in April this year, and rumours suggested the game was originally going to be shown at E3 during Sony’s press conference but was pulled at the last moment.

More recently Red Dead Redemption was made available via backwards compatible on Xbox One, and the first game in the series, Red Dead Revolver, was also made available on PS4.
