Resident Evil Village Will Spook You In May

January 22, 2021

We’ve talked in the past about the games that have become the clockwork releases that you can set your watch to. Things like Call of Duty and FIFA that are guaranteed to release every year. We’re the first to admit that we didn’t expect Resident Evil to become one of those franchises. We’re now set to have our third year in a row with a new game, with Resident Evil Village confirmed for release on May 7, 2021.

The release date for Resident Evil Village was announced alongside a new trailer (which can be viewed below) at this morning’s Resident Evil Celebration, an event happening in light of the franchise’s 25th anniversary in 2021. It gave us a good couple of minutes of gameplay footage to check out, which has helped solidify it as our most anticipated horror game of 2021.

Alongside the release date and trailer, we also got some more interesting tidbits of news from the celebration. Resident Evil RE:Verse is a new multiplayer deathmatch experience that pits past franchise characters against each other and comes for free with Village. We also got confirmation that a demo for Village will drop on PS5 today (and later on other platforms) so you can give the game a go prior to release.

Resident Evil Village releases for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S on May 7, 2021. For more information, check the official website.
