First Red Dead Redemption 2 Gameplay Trailer
First Red Dead Redemption 2 Gameplay Trailer

Today is a great day to be a gamer, and even more if you’re a Rockstar fan, as the award-winning developers have just announced the Red Dead Redemption 2 release date.

Red Dead Redemption 2 will launch on October 26th, 2018. With no confirmation, we can only assume the game is currently planning to launch on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Windows PC fans shouldn’t hold their breath, after the original Red Dead Redemption which launched a staggering eight years ago in May 2010 never made its way to the Windows PC platform.

In a message to fans from Rockstar via their official website, they apologised for delays and gave sincere thanks for fans’ patience. Check out the message after the drop:

We are excited to announce that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be released on October 26th 2018. We apologize to everyone disappointed by this delay. While we had hoped to have the game out sooner, we require a little extra time for polish.

We sincerely thank you for your patience and hope that when you get to play the game, you will agree the wait will have been worth it. In the meantime, please check out these screenshots from the game. We look forward to sharing a lot more information with you in the coming weeks.

With thanks,
Rockstar Games
