The announcements keep coming on the Xbox Games Showcase, with the confirmation that Psychonauts 2 will now release on Xbox Series X along with previously confirmed versions on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Previously delayed to 2020 back in July of last year, with the delay coinciding with Double Fine’s purchase by Xbox Games Studios and the ability for the studio to increase the scope of the game.

Brand new footage for Psychonauts 2 debuted during today’s Xbox Games Showcase, showing off some gameplay and story, along with the brand new release date. The new footage, which also presumably showed our first glimpse of the game running on an Xbox Series X, also showed off a brand new music themed level filled with voice work and music performed by Jack Black.

It still looks just as colourful and psychedelic as we remember from previous footage, with trippy pulsing rainbow effects and more that wouldn’t look out of place in an acid fuelled dream.

Psychonauts 2 will release on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Xbox Series X.
