PS Plus June 2016 Freebies announced

June 2, 2016

Sony has announced the PS Plus freebies for June 2016.

PS4 players can look forward to NBA 2K16 and Gone Home. NBA 2K16 is, as its name suggests, a basketball simulator. It’s the seventeenth entry in the series overall, with a new feature being the ability relocate teams to different cities. There is also an improved team builder system, a revamped offseason and players can now suffer multiple injuries – we’re thinking if your star player has a broken index finger and a sore ankle you’ll want to take him off the court pronto!

Gone Home is a first person exploration game. In the game players return home from overseas to find a deserted house, and must investigate what happened to their family by examining items and piecing together the mystery. While the slow pace may deter some, it’s one of the more unique experiences to be released in recent times and will reward those who explore every nook and cranny.

On the PS3, Echochrome and Siren: Blood Curse take the spotlight. Echochrome is an interesting puzzler where players must guide a articulated wooden artist’s mannequin through levels. The mannequin moves autonomously in a 3D environment, and players have to change the perspective of the level to avoid hazards. For example, if there is a hole in the floor you can spin the level around so that the hole is covered from view by a pole. The mannequin will continue walking down the path as if the hole isn’t there.

Siren: Blood Curse is a survival horror game and the third entry of the Siren franchise. The game is set in a Japanese village called Hanuda, which is overrun by Shibito (corpse people). Players will assume the role of Howard Wright, a high school student who visits the village after receiving a mysterious email. Howard will come into contact with several other characters whose stories entwine throughout the game.

Last but not least is the PS Vita which will feature God of War: Chains of Olympus and Little Deviants. God of War: Chains of Olympus acts as a prequel to the original God of War and follows Kratos during his ten years of service to the Olympian Gods. At the time of its original release on PSP, the game was considered one of the best titles to own for the system. Expect plenty of the series’ trademark action and gore.

Little Deviants was a launch title for the PS Vita and is essentially a mini-game collection. The mini-games showcase the PS Vita’s hardware including touch screen controls, rear touch screen controls, motion controls and augmented reality.
