Sony’s PlayStation Showcase event ended with the details we’ve all been waiting for – a release date for the console and a price for the PlayStation 5.

The console is coming on November 12 to Australia, New Zealand, USA, Japan, Canada, Mexico and South Korea, and November 19 to the rest of the world. The Blu-Ray drive equipped PS5 comes in at $749.95, while the discless ‘Digital Edition’ will retail at $599.95.

That means the PS5 will directly be competing with the Xbox Series X, also announced at$749.95, although the smaller, less-powerful, Xbox Series S will undercut the PS5 by $100 at $499.95. Which one will next-gen shoppers go for? We’ll find out at the end of this year, once the dual next-gen console releases are finally out there.
