Outlast 2 delayed

August 2, 2016

Developer Red Barrels has announced on the Outlast Facebook page that Outlast 2 has been delayed until Q1 2017.

Red Barrels cited they wanted a little more time to ensure Outlast 2 was to a high standard, mentioning they had been listening to feedback from fans and what to give them the “experience [they] deserve”. They also promised that “Outlast 2 will scare the crap out of you”.

Originally scheduled for release in Q3 this year, Outlast 2 is set in rural Arizona and follows the exploits of cameraman Blake Langermann, who is searching for his wife after she was abducted following a car crash. Recent demos have showcased a hide-and-seek sequence in a cornfield, with the player avoiding cult members under the cover of a moonlit night.

Outlast 2 is expected to be released on PC, Mac, PS4 and Xbox One.
