Our First Look At NBA 2K21 PS5 Gameplay Is Here

October 7, 2020

When NBA 2K21 was first revealed back in June’s PS5 Games Showcase all we got was a super short teaser. While it showed us how good Zion Williamson’s model would look, it didn’t give us much in the way of wider gameplay to really see how the game would look on PS5. Now, 2K Games has released an NBA 2K21 next-gen gameplay trailer showing us exactly what we can expect when we play the game on PS5.

While it’s probably not too surprising to hear, the trailer shows off some absolutely incredible looking player models. Players absolutely look the best they ever have, while courts, balls and nets are shown to also be in significantly higher quality than ever before. Steph Curry is maybe the best visual representation of this in the trailer, with multiple close ups showing just how lifelike his model is. Maybe the best improvement, however, comes in the form of the match side crowds. Finally, we have what looks to be lifelike and animated crowds in a sports game. You can see crowd members performing individual actions, mingling with each other and just generally acting with a freedom of movement I’ve not really seen in a game before. The models also look significantly better than anything comparable that I’ve seen in a sports game before.

NBA 2K21 releases in November 10 for Xbox Series X|S and November 12 for PS5. For more information, check out the official website or take a gander at our review of the PS4 version of the game.
